Our story is wrapped up in a greater one; the gospel story.
YESTERDAY
60 Years and counting...
Over sixty years ago, a small group of believers began meeting together with a vision to plant a church between Mt. Pleasant and Concord. The group made plans to rent a small house in which to hold prayer meetings.

"Glorieta"
Soon after they began meeting together, the new church decided it was time to settle on a church name. After several suggestions were given, the group decided on the name "Glorieta". In 1953, the church built the basement of the original church building at its current location on N.C. Hwy. 73 in Concord, NC. Ten years later, a sanctuary was constructed over the top of that basement and the original church building was complete.
Building Continues
In 1984, the church decided to begin plans to build a new sanctuary. However, the sanctuary would have never become a reality without the generous donation of labor and cost of materials made by the church family. In 1985, the church sanctuary was completed.
TODAY
Growing on a Foundation
Through the years, God continues to bless the missions and ministry of Glorieta. We have also seen God do incredible things in our families and in our community. We are more than a group of people with a history to tell. We are the body and the bride of Christ sent out with a greater story to tell; the gospel story. That's why we exist. That's why we're here; to tell that story.
"Traffic Circle" Church
When our church decided on a name almost 63 years ago, the people settled on the name "Glorieta" after the conference center in New Mexico with the same name that had just opened its doors. "Glorieta" is a Spanish word that means "traffic circle". Almost 63 years later, our church is finding vision in our name.
The purpose of a traffic circle is not to enter it and keep going around in circles. You drive in, find your direction, and go. The same is true with church. At Glorieta, we hope to be a "traffic circle" church. We want to invite you in, equip you to find your direction and encourage you to go. Why? Because the result of gospel hearing, gospel singing, and gospel worship should be gospel going. Without gospel going, we end up looking like drivers stuck in a traffic circle.
In short, God's mission is to save us and send us. We hope to be a church that joins God in His mission; today and tomorrow.
TOMORROW
Gospel Opportunities
Our community is growing and changing. More than ever, the people of Mt. Pleasant and Concord need our church family to reach out to them with the gospel of Jesus. More than ever, we are in an incredible position to do just that.
Opportunities for Gospel Service
The new campus of Mt. Pleasant Middle School is adjacent to Mt. Pleasant High School. Over 700 middle school students and over 800 high school students will gather every weekday one mile away from our church campus. This means our church is uniquely positioned to serve the students and staff of both of these amazing schools.
Opportunities for Gospel Outreach
Three miles from our church campus sits Barringer Trace, a new apartment complex in Mt. Pleasant. We have an incredible opportunity to love and serve individuals and families who find their homes here. But we cannot do it alone. We ask you to join us on our mission to reach our community with the greatest story ever told; the gospel story.
Our story is wrapped up in a greater one; the gospel story.
